Where this comes from
- Since August 2016 there is no legal limit on Sunday or holiday hours for state stores. Before that, no more than a quarter of the stores could open on Sunday, and only from noon to 5 PM. The PLCB now decides when each store is open. (PLCB summary of Act 39 of 2016 (47 P.S. 1-102, 3-304), checked Oct 28, 2026)
- Liquor is sold at retail only in Fine Wine & Good Spirits stores, apart from what licensed distilleries sell. Wine is also sold in limited amounts by licensed private shops and by wineries. (PLCB budget hearing materials, FY 2024-25, checked Oct 28, 2026)
